Working Together to Safeguard People – Volumes 2 and 3 – Child Practice Reviews and Adult Practice Reviews

Bethan Jones

The published guidance forms part of the compendium of statutory safeguarding guidance to support safeguarding board partners exercise their shared protection and prevention responsibilities for adults and children experiencing or at risk of abuse or neglect.

The Child Practice Review guidance has been reviewed and updated since its first publication in January 2013 and reflects the findings of the independent evaluation of the implementation of the child practice review framework. The Adult Practice Review guidance is new guidance as a consequence of strengthened provisions for adult safeguarding within the Act. You will note that we have aligned the practice review processes as closely as possible to secure capacity and sustainability in this work.

Both guidance documents have been developed to improve the culture of learning and review in cases where abuse or neglect is apparent or suspected and are available on the Welsh Government website
