Stop It Now Third Sector Session – 29.4.19

Flyer for Third Sector Coed Pella English.

Gillian Jones Stop It Now will be delivering the final Stop It Now session on 29 April 2019 which will be held at Conwy County Borough Council, Coed Pella Offices, Conway Road, Colwyn Bay.

This session is primarily aimed at Third Sector professionals who work with Children, Young people and Families across North Wales.

These sessions are funded by Welsh Government and the previous sessions held and supported by the North Wales Safeguarding Board have been well attended by parents, carers and professionals across agencies.

Stop it Now! Cymru are holding parent and carer sessions in Flintshire.

A session is be held Monday 25 March 2019 6pm-8pm at Westwood Community Primary School, Buckley, Flintshire.

Please see attached flyer for more information.

The session is aimed at parents/carers to develop and increase confidence to spot signs of sexual abuse and know what to do.

The session is open to parents/carers in the Wrexham and Flintshire area.

Thursday 28th March – 9.30am – 12.30pm

To be held at Conwy Business Centre, Llandudno Junction

Presenter – Professor Michael Preston-Shoot

This workshop will give practitioners an insight into why people self-neglect and the challenges they face in this area of work and in trying to achieve a positive outcome. We will explore how making safeguarding person centred can be used to offer the individual the best possible range of interventions and support.

Learning Outcomes:
• To identify the signs and symptoms of self-neglect
• To explore the issues of mental capacity and why people self-neglect
• To explore the benefits of multi-agency approach via the safeguarding process

Target Audience
North Wales Multi Agency Practitioners who work with people who self-neglect

Child Sexual Exploitation Community of Practice Event

The Community of Practice Event, is an opportunity for professionals to come together and share good practice examples, information sharing about service delivery and experiences of working with children and families who are subjected to child sexual abuse including child sexual exploitation. Communities of Practice are a way of improving practice, and can provide the basis for spreading innovation between professionals and across organisational boundaries.
