Whilst many issues arising for safeguarding young people are similar to those for other adults, there are some unique features. The ways in which the gaps between children and adults systems play out through inter-agency and multi-professional working, as well as how “lifestyle choices” of young people are understood and interpreted are key issues.

Target audience includes Adults and Children’s Social Services, Substance Misuse Services, Health, Education, Police, Probation and the Voluntary Sector.

Person centred approach and the Wales Safeguarding (Adults) Procedures

Organised by: North Wales Safeguarding Board
Contact Person: NWSB Business Unit
Email: Regionalsafeguarding@denbighshire.gov.uk
Website: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/person-centred-approach-and-the-wales-safeguarding-adults-procedures-tickets-375767319167
Venue: Rhyl Rugby Club, Rhyl. 10:00 - 15:00
Nov 14

Aims of the workshop

To highlight how the Wales Safeguarding Procedures underpins the move away from process-led, target focused safeguarding interventions to a more person-centred approach and to achieve the desired outcomes of the adult, (outcomes that were checked and could change throughout the intervention).

To consider how individuals working engaged in safeguarding activity can demonstrate a person centred approach in practice but also how an organisation can demonstrate a commitment to person centred approaches within safeguarding processes.

Trainer: Vicky Allen
