Together we can keep people safe’ is the key message to all of Wales’ residents as Safeguarding Boards across Wales, in partnership with Welsh Government and the National Independent Safeguarding Board prepare to launch National Safeguarding Week in November (Monday 15th to Friday 19th).
Working with partners from health, the emergency services, third sector and others, the Boards plan to raise everyone’s awareness of what safeguarding means and the many situations in which it can arise.
If you know a child who is at risk of abuse or is being abused, it’s very important that you let the council or the police know.
If the individual is in direct danger, call the Police immediately on 999. If not, telephone Social Services as soon as possible to share your concerns.
