Homes for Ukraine: safeguarding and modern slavery guidance

Advice on how public bodies can help protect people living in households from Ukraine.

The Welsh Government is working to ensure that safeguarding is a central consideration in the systems, policy and advice being developed to support the arrival of people from Ukraine. We know this is also a priority for local authorities and relevant safeguarding partners.

There are a number of different ways in which people from Ukraine and people in Wales will come to be living in a single household. This guidance is about the individual UK Government sponsoring scheme via Homes for Ukraine. It will be reviewed and updated regularly.

Dementia Awareness/Action Week 16 – 22 May 2022

Dementia Action Week

Dementia Action Week is an awareness raising campaign. Each year, the Alzheimer’s Society work with individuals and organisations across the UK to encourage people to ‘act on dementia’.

This year’s campaign will run from 16-22 May and focus on the theme of diagnosis. Research shows that the misconception around memory loss being a sign of normal ageing is the biggest barrier to people seeking a dementia diagnosis.

With diagnosis rates falling to a five-year low, Alzheimer’s Society want to encourage those who might be living with undiagnosed dementia to go to them for guidance and support and feel empowered to take the next step.

More information can be found on their website: https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/
